The Bergueda is a cyclist's paradise in all disciplines. Mountain roads with little traffic, legendary passes, endless forest tracks for mountain biking and gravel routes along ancient paths. Road cycling: passes and routes
The Bergueda's roads offer everything a road cyclist could wish for:
- Coll de Pal pass (1,995 m): From Baga, 20 km of climbing with 1,200 metres of elevation gain. Tough gradients (average 6%, with ramps at 10%) and spectacular views.
- Rasos de Peguera (1,900 m): Climb from Berga, 23 km with 1,100 metres of elevation gain. A narrow road through pine forests.
- Pedraforca loop: A circular route combining road and paved track, passing through Gosol, Saldes and Baga. 60 km with 1,500 metres of total ascent.
- Berga to Castellar de n'Hug: A valley-floor route following the Llobregat, 45 km with moderate elevation gain.
Mountain biking
The network of trails and forest tracks in the Bergueda is immense:
- Carrilet Route: A former railway line between Berga and Guardiola, 15 km of flat terrain -- perfect for warming up.
- Vall de Lord circuits: 40 minutes away, marked circuits of varying difficulty.
- Pedraforca MTB loop: A circular route on forest tracks with technical sections and spectacular views.
- Coll de Pal to Baga descent: 20 km of descent on a forest track with 1,200 m of elevation drop. Pure fun.
The farmhouse offers secure indoor storage for bikes and an outdoor area for washing them.
Gravel: the best of both worlds
The Bergueda is ideal gravel territory, with endless tracks and trails:
- Route of the Good Men (sections): The historic Cathar trail, adaptable for gravel, with forest track sections between Baga and Gosol.
- Route through abandoned villages: Trails between abandoned farmhouses and ghost villages in the Bergueda interior, with a special charm.
- Bergueda-Cerdanya link: Via forest tracks crossing the Cadi-Moixero range -- a full-day adventure.
