Spring awakens the Bergueda with an explosion of life: flower-covered meadows, blossoming trees, rushing streams and a light that invites you out to explore. La Tor de Montclar, surrounded by nature, is the ideal place to enjoy this revitalising season with family or friends.
The Bergueda in spring: nature reawakened
Between March and June, the Bergueda is transformed. Meadows are carpeted with wild flowers -- daffodils, orchids, gentians and violets -- while the fruit trees in the orchards blossom in white and pink. The waterfalls and springs, fed by the Pyrenean snowmelt, are at their fullest.
Temperatures are ideal for hiking (12-22 degrees Celsius) and daylight hours lengthen, letting you make the most of every day. From May, the farmhouse's outdoor pool starts to become a tempting option for warm afternoons.
La Patum de Berga: UNESCO World Heritage
If there is one reason to visit the Bergueda in spring, it is La Patum. Declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005, this Corpus Christi festival (May or June) is a spectacle of fire, music and tradition that makes the whole town of Berga vibrate.
From La Tor de Montclar, you can experience La Patum with the comfort of having accommodation just 20 minutes from Berga. Return to the farmhouse after the night's festivities and enjoy a restful sleep before doing it all again the next day.
Spring activities
- Hiking: The Route of the Good Men, the Pedraforca and the Fageda de Gresolet are spectacular with spring vegetation.
- Birdwatching: Spring is nesting season. In the Cadi-Moixero Natural Park you can see golden eagles, bearded vultures and griffon vultures.
- Cycling: The Bergueda's roads, with little traffic and changing scenery, are ideal for road or gravel cycling.
- Markets and fairs: Spring brings local produce fairs, such as the Sant Marc Fair in Berga or regional craft fairs.
The farmhouse in spring
The garden at La Tor de Montclar reaches its peak in spring. The green areas are lush, perfect for outdoor breakfasts, reading sessions or simply enjoying the sunshine without the excessive heat of summer.
The combination of warm days and cool nights means you can enjoy both the outdoor barbecue during the day and the fireplace in the evening. The indoor pool is available year-round, and by late spring the outdoor pool already beckons with the first dip of the season.
